If David Blaine leaves Americans awestruck with his feats of endurance and street illusions, Thomas Pua charms Cebuanos with his wit and magic. With how people (especially girls) react to his street illusions, this guy is worthy to be hailed as the Magic Man of local cable TV. Taking pleasure in performing tricks before the very eyes of people, Thomas enthralls his audiences and successfully converts them into true believers.
In spite of having talents that can mesmerize people, Thomas never thought of hosting a show on TV. But fortunately, destiny played a good joke and made him take a shift. Thomas' TV career started when Around Town host Alexis saw him perform a levitation illusion at Alejandro's. Impressed of what he saw, Alexis asked our magic man to guest in Real Life. And because the RCTV production team believes that this guy has the capacity to delight Cebuano viewers, he was invited to host a show. From then on, this charming illusionist became a celebrity.
Thomas has been doing illusions for almost a decade now. But admittedly, he is not a born illusionist. So if he is not busy playing the guitar, surfing the net and chilling out in a coffee shop, he reads magic manuscripts, watches magic videos and does anything to perfect his craft. So we wouldn't be astonished when we see this guy floating on air one of this days.
While indulging on his fame as Cebu's magic man, Thomas also wants to host or VJ other RCTV shows. For this guy, the best thing about hosting is the adrenaline rush that he gets while shooting the show, especially the opening and closing spiels. And in this illusionist's point of view, RCTV is a family who takes pride in what they do.
Aside from taking pride in his talent as an illusionist, Thomas is also proud to be a Cebuano. “The fact that I'm part of one of the most diverse cities in the Philippines makes me proud to be a Cebuano. GAHI NI BAI!” he boasts. And with that declaration, he will surely turn Cebuanos into believers.
